Get back Google Maps on iOS 6

Get back Google Maps on iOS 6. A great little article. Now why didn’t I think of this?.

A nice little guide from my new friend Howard, take a look!

If you miss having Google Maps on your Apple iPhone or iPad, you can create a link to the HTML 5 version by doing the following:

Navigating to

Pressing the Share button (Google have added a notice now)

Then selecting ‘Add to Home Screen’

It’s not as good as the App but does include features such as public transport and walking directions.

So I just read that Google Maps for iOS 6 is nearing the approval stage according to sources close to the matter. Google has already apparently been giving beta test copies out to people outside of the Google.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal the source confirmed that Google has in fact been working on a replacement for both Google Maps and and a big update for YouTube on iPhone and iPad.

Ever since Apple ditched the preinstalled Google Maps in favour of its own Apple Maps app, Google has remained quiet about whether it will be releasing an alternative for iPhone 5 and iPad.

It would seem however as though Google are indeed nearly ready to file their replacement to Apple for approval which would then mean waiting to see if Apple would indeed approve such a direct competitor to their own maps service.

  1. Unquestionably believe that which you stated. Your favorite justification seemed to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while people consider worries that they just don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
